AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF A SHOE (Pt.1)

Do you ever wonder what your shoes are thinking?
...

"Shoes like these should not be locked in a closet!
They should be living a life of scandal, and passion."
-In Her Shoes

A girl named Kylee adopted me. She seemed reasonable… She wiped the dirt off of me after nights out, I’m pretty sure she almost cried when I got a little scratch on my side, and she always made sure her toenails were painted when she wore me. (Don’t you dare call me a prude. Even I don’t want to see a naked toe… And I’ve walked around the block a time or two!)

I’m not trying to be vain, but I got compliments every single time I went out. Once a group of women even said I was the best looking shoe they had seen all night. That caused my red patent material to shine a little brighter!

Living with Kylee did have its ups and downs. Once I swear she tried to drown me! I was submerged in a puddle of rain water. She was running through a parking lot, trying to get inside from the rain, and she soaked me! I will admit that the water was deeper than it looked… but I was still pretty angry for a while. Luckily for little miss puddle-stomper, I dried out nicely. She may have been jealous because I was getting more attention than her; I’m not sure… I have my conspiracies.

One night, she scratched me on a curb. I already mentioned that she almost cried, but that scratch really hurt my ego. I’m still trying to get over it.

Something else that I’m trying to get over is the horrible name she called me once. I’m embarrassed to even say it! Excuse my potty-mouth for a moment, but she called me… She called me… UNCOMFORTABLE! Can you believe it? It wasn’t my fault! I was perfectly comfortable until after she danced all night! What does she expect?!

She wore me recently… It always puts a smile on my face. She pulls me out on special occasions, but for now I sit among many others of my kind. All of different materials, colors, and designs… Not to toot my own horn, but I am kind of a big deal.
