If you walk into Harem & Company right now, you will be
surrounded with bright colors. It’s only January, but it’s not too early to
start incorporating spring pieces into your winter wardrobe. I don’t want to
wait until May; my spring pieces would hang in my closet taunting me!
Everything from pastel jeans to electric-bright accessories
can be worn now if you do it right. Don’t overdo it, and only wear one or two
spring pieces at a time. Balance between winter and summer pieces. “Bright
colors” doesn’t necessarily mean neon yellow or purple pastels (although
electric colors are a big Spring 2013 trend), it also includes spring colors
like medium greens.

Here are some tips on transitioning your winter wardrobe
into spring …
LATHER ON THE LAYERS
– When spring nears, the weather can be a little tricky. The morning can start
off cold and progress into higher temperatures later in the day. Wear layers so
you can shed pieces throughout the day.
Scarves and cardigans are great layering pieces that you can
easily remove if you get a little too warm. Load up these spring basics for a
foolproof transition wardrobe.

TAKE EACH TREND ONE
DAY (OR OUTFIT) AT A TIME – Wear one spring trend at a time so you don’t
look like a fashion victim … you don’t want to be put in handcuffs by the
fashion police. Try each trend at different times and pair it with your winter
pieces.
If the weather permits, wear cropped pants with a
long-sleeved top or a dark blazer with a bright top underneath.
IN STOCK: Ecru cropped pant
BRIGHTS ON BOARD
– Accessorize with brights to achieve an award-worthy transition wardrobe. Wear
a sweater-dress with colored tights or add a pop to your daily outfits with a
yellow scarf. Pastel skinny jeans add the perfect touch of spring when
coordinated with winter neutrals. Dabs of bright colors go a long way and grab
attention.
Scarves, umbrellas, and bags are the quintessential way to
add a splash of spring color. For a
bolder statement, trade a neutral colored trench coat for a colored one.

JEWELS WILL JOIN –
Use jewelry to transition your look. A chunky, turquoise cocktail ring will add
some spring bling. Coral drop earrings will look fun but chic. Bright colored
bangles will add the perfect amount of spring-arm-candy, and a red beaded
necklace will make a statement around your neck. Don’t be afraid to go for it!
WHEN IN DOUBT, GET IT
OUT – Get out your warm-weather attire so you know what you have to work
with. Incorporate these pieces into your winter wardrobe, and gradually add
more as the temperatures increase. Bright t-shirts and tank tops can come in
handy to layer under winter blazers and neutral cardigans. If your spring
clothing isn’t visible, you may forget what you have … Out of sight, out of
mind.
Use these tips for an easy but tres’ chic transition.
